An Evening Without Laurie Anderson

10-14-yearold actors will be performing two full acts of pieces spanning the career of performance artist Laurie Anderson, from classics like "Strange Angels" and "Big Science" to pieces from her recent show, "Homeland," including "The Beginning of Memory."

We're letting the kids lead the way with interpretation of the material, with staging, sets, costumes, etc. so expect a lively, engaging, and delightfully odd performance.

Friday & Saturday, April 20th & 21st, 7pm
Mahomet-Seymour Junior High School Auditorium

An Evening Without Laurie Anderson

Tickets are $4 in advance, $5 at the door
All proceeds go to support the MSJH Drama Club

Tickets can be purchased soon at Caffe Paradiso in Urbana or the MSJH main office.

Hello, does anyone know anywhere in CU that has gluten free pizza? Saw that it is listed on the Monicals menu, thanks in advance. :)

It's Pi Day! Where's the best place in town for pie?

My fiance (the awesome [info]benchilada) and I are looking to rent a house. We've found a few places through Craigslist but casting a wider net seems like a good idea. Anyone have experience with real estate places in town?

We are also looking to have inky needles dug into our skin. We were going to go with No Regrets but we regret that they treated a friend who was working there like dirt, so they are out. Also not on the list is New Life, they do good work but it sounds like they get a little high and mighty about what they will deign to put on you. That's their right, but it's my right to pick someone else. We want to build a relationship with an artist because we have PLANS.

Advices please!

I have several items of jewelry that need repaired. Looking for recommendations of a reputable jeweler! I have been to Christopher's Fine Jewelry on S. Neil, and that's fine, but I don't like how they try to coerce one into attending their gem sales.

I am subletting a two bedroom, one bathroom house on the corner of John and Foley in Champaign. It is an adorable bungalow that would be available ASAP through July 24. It is my understanding that the rental company has not leased it for the following year. It is $780/mo. but for the duration of the sublease we are willing to negotiate on price. PLEASE if you know anyone who would be interested, e-mail me at aleatorictv at gmail dot com. Find out more here. Thanks!

Hi, everyone! I have arrived in Champaign from Pittsburgh. Thanks to everyone again for the truck rental recommendations. I did go with Penske and the move went pretty flawlessly.

Now I am coming back to you to ask where people like to do yoga. I've found that I do best with Hatha yoga (definitely not hot yoga!) and with a regularly scheduled class that you register for as opposed to drop-ins, but I'm open to considering anything.

Also, any general advice for things to do for someone new in town to learn the area and meet people are most welcome.

Thank you!
