I'm sure that there'll be a nice supply of wire coathangers if the cops start giving them trouble.

yes, prescriptions are required. But guess what, Planned Parenthood can prescribe, and distribute some prescription medication! I'll be damned, a women's clinic able to prescribe birth control...what will they think of next?

May 2 2005, 21:41:52 UTC 7 years ago

yes. but the FDA also has on many occasion been close to letting it go OTC.

i read your blog rant. interesting stuff. you should probably go after them or mckinley for providing birth control then as well. it is allowed for an individual to forego their examination and have counseling(explanation of methods of bc) as a replacement. so counseling plus medical history plus a sliding scale fee can get you BC without batting an eye.

just out of curiousity, what did the police say?

I've read the various threads, and not once do you cite any statute or anything else that says it's illegal to prescribe medication (especially Plan B, which has few contraindications) in advance of need. Do you have this information, or are you merely speculating?

Yes, but generally all that's needed to assess whether it is safe for someone to use is a 3 or 4 question health history. No exam, and a very minimal hassle if you want to call it one at all.

Thanks for sharing this, what a great event. I have done a fair amount of research on Plan B, and usage rates and efficacy dramatically increase when women are allowed to keep Plan B in their homes in case they need it. Good job, PP!

Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. Pregnancy begins at implantation. And there you have it, folks! Shut the fuck up and let women take control of their reproductive health.

I'll be there. With friends. And with bells on. Should I have sex with my boyfriend the night before, to make sure I'm allowed to get the pills? Because, let's be honest, I'm okay with that! ^_^

[info]meinterrupted

May 3 2005, 00:35:53 UTC 7 years ago

(The part about having sex was a joke. Well, not really. If people like [info]bambenek are going to show up and try to stop this event, then perhaps it's not a bad idea.)

just a friendly reminder, please do keep the conversation here civil if you do engage in it.

everyone is entitled to their opinions, so as a precursor to any potential problems, please do address things as adults. i don't want to have to deal with a flame war here.

thanks for the consideration.

adults should also realize that their opinions are not sacrosanct and that, while they are entitled to their opinions, that doesn't mean that other people can't challenge those opinions.
